Wheatmark's Standard Sales and Marketing Services
The most fundamental aids to your sales and marketing efforts are included as a part of the basic Wheatmark publishing service:
Title Registrations
All books published by Wheatmark are assigned an ISBN (international standard book number) and are listed in Bowker's Books in Print. We also apply for an LCCN (Library of Congress control number) for your book. These are authoritative registrations and listings for books that libraries, schools, booksellers, scholars, and others use when searching for titles. Your book will also have an EAN barcode.
Online Bookstores
All books published by Wheatmark are sold on Amazon.com, BarnesandNoble.com, Borders.com, BooksAMillion.com, Target.com, and the Wheatmark bookstore. A display page is created for your book for use on these online bookstores. This page displays the book cover, a description of the book, bibliographic information, and endorsements. Books published with Wheatmark stand out on online bookstores because of Wheatmark's exceptional cover designs.
Distribution with Traditional Terms
Your book is made available through numerous online retailers, such as BarnesandNoble.com, Amazon.com, Borders.com, Target.com, BooksAMillion.com, and others. One of the two major U.S. book wholesalers, Ingram Book Company or Baker & Taylor, will list your book, enabling virtually any bookstore or volume book buyer in the world to order it. Your book is also listed by Bertram Books, a leading wholesaler in Great Britain. We also make your book available for sale on the Wheatmark Bookstore.
In addition, Wheatmark will create custom sales sheets that you can use in your sales and distribution efforts. We create two versions for you—one aimed at booksellers (trade), and one aimed at end users (readers)—containing all the necessary bibliographic information about your book, a book summary, and cover art, as well as distribution information and availability. We’ll provide you with the files for each version of your sales sheets so you can modify them as necessary and print as many copies as you’ll need.

BookFlash Online Press Kit - $449
The first step to any successful book publicity campaign is a great press kit. But creating a comprehensive and well-designed press kit that meets the specific needs of your target media can be a daunting endeavor that even experienced book publicists may find difficult. For an author with a limited marketing budget, there’s the additional challenge of keeping press kit production affordable.
To help meet the specific publicity needs of independent authors, Wheatmark has created the BookFlash Online Press Kit. You provide us with author info, press releases, a calendar of author events, praise and endorsements, a book summary, a book excerpt, a sample author Q&A, publisher and purchasing info, news and reviews, additional resources, story ideas and backgrounders, downloadable high-resolution images—even optional audio and video clips for viewing or download.
Wheatmark will upload all of your press kit materials into an expertly designed and formatted website, branded with the Internet domain name of your choice. You can edit and upload new content to your BookFlash Online Press Kit at any time from our web-based management center, ensuring that your press kit is up-to-date with your latest press releases, downloadable images, book events, and more. BookFlash will continue to host your online press kit for as long as you wish to have it online.
With studies showing that 90% of reporters begin researching their stories online, and that email is by far the media’s preferred method of contact, you can’t afford not to have an online press kit for your book. What’s more, if you ever need a physical press kit, the BookFlash Online Press Kit allows you to print preformatted, professional-looking materials from your home printer.

Internet Domain Name - $99
An Internet domain name for your book (example: www.TheTitleofMyBook.com) will be registered and "pointed" to your book's page in Wheatmark's online bookstore. The domain name will be registered in your name for one year.
As soon as that’s done, we recommend that you print your new domain name on all of your printed promotional materials, such as bookmarks, business cards, and postcards. Also, when people ask you where they can buy your book, we strongly recommend that you tell them "www.TheTitleofMyBook.com."
This way, you can take advantage of the higher royalty rate you receive from selling your book on the Wheatmark bookstore!
Inside Search Package (Amazon/Google/MSN Search and Online Preview) - $199
Giving your prospective customers the ability to look inside your book and browse its contents (on Amazon, for example) is a great way to increase your chances of making the sale! When you order the Inside Search package, Wheatmark will handle the application and submission process so that several providers will scan your book for search indexing.
Visitors on google.com, amazon.com, live.com, and msn.com will be able to look and search inside your book online, much like customers look inside a book in bookstores. They will not, however, be able to download or print your book, so your content is secure. (6–8 weeks after publication)
Official Copyright Registration

Have Wheatmark apply for official copyright registration with the U.S. Copyright Office in your name. Note: As a part of Wheatmark’s publishing service, your book is copyrighted in your name, and we apply for an LCCN (Library of Congress control number) for your book. You do not need official copyright registration to obtain these benefits.
Cataloging-in-Publication
(CIP) Data - $249, 2-3 weeks
We will provide publisher’s cataloging-in-publication (CIP) data for your book and include it on the copyright page. CIP data, a bibliographic record based on the subject and content of your book, allows libraries to easily catalog your book. Librarians prefer books with preprinted CIP data on the copyright page.
Postcards: 1,000 - $349
Receive 1,000 postcards (4 x 6) featuring your book. The front of the postcard will display the front cover of your book in full color, and the back side will contain a customized announcement about the release of your book, including the author’s name, ISBN, purchase information, and a short description.
Remember, we strongly recommend that you print your domain name (example: www.TheTitleofMyBook.com) on all of your printed promotional materials, including postcards (see Internet Domain Name, above).
Bookmarks: 1,000 - $299
Receive 1,000 bookmarks (2 x 7) featuring your book. The front of the bookmark will display the front cover of your book in full color, and the back side can contain a customized message, including the author’s name, ISBN, and purchase information.

Business Cards: 1,000 - $249
