When a Wheatmark author sells 2,000 or more copies of a book, that book is enrolled in our Great Expectations program. Great Expectations authors are entitled to Great Expectations program benefits valued at the amount of the publishing and marketing service fees they paid to Wheatmark for that book (through the date it reached 2,000 copies sold through Wheatmark).
GE Customized Sales & Marketing Campaign Option:
Some authors will receive a highly customized marketing campaign designed specifically for their book. Working with the author, our marketing experts will target the title’s niche market, evaluating the best sales outlets and most appropriate promotional opportunities. With the Great Expectations sales & marketing program, our marketing experts might focus on online and nontraditional marketing techniques and outlets. Or, if research indicates that a book will benefit from a more traditional approach, we’ll create and execute a top-of-the-line, highly targeted traditional campaign. Among the benefits that have been included in past GE Customized Sales & Marketing Campaigns are:
- editorial consultation
- editorial tune-up
- book cover makeover
- marketing consultation
- publicity review
- press release writing
- press release distribution
- print advertising
- direct mail campaigns
- blog setup and training
- social networking training
- nontraditional sales efforts
- online media rooms
- author websites
- promotional postcards and bookmarks
GE Additional Publishing Services Option:
Some authors will receive a credit, which they can apply toward additional publishing services and/or books. This benefit is geared toward authors who are ready to publish a new title, want to revise their existing title, or would prefer to have books on hand for direct or back-of-room sales.
The beauty of our Great Expectations program is that we work with qualifying authors to help find the right GE benefit for their overall publishing goals—evaluating their book’s best marketing options and helping to get their books into the hands of as many readers as possible.
