Description
Our political and financial systems, and particularly the
latter, have fallen so short of expectations they deserve to be
questioned.
The United States is experiencing a very serious disruption of
its economy that will affect every other segment of human affairs
and endeavors. The universal question is: how did this happen?
"Oh the World Owes Me a Living" notes some of the causes,
but more importantly, suggests what we can do to correct
long-standing abuses to our economic and political systems. For
decades these abuses have been controlled by special interest
groups. Author Carlton Laird provides the tools needed for the
public to take back their government through voter initiative.
According to Laird, the public needs to be in command of their
financial system. It should be viewed as part of the public domain.
This is the only way that the monstrous public debt can be
eliminated. Although we have never had a true, fully-operative
democracy, it is still possible to have a government of, by, and
for the people.
