Kathleen D. Rabbers is an emerging poet and has published poetry in Otoliths, Peninsula Poets, Bear River Review, and the Poetry Society of Michigan five-year anthology. She won the Michigan Writer’s Cooperative Press 2021 Award and published her first chapbook, The Mountain Ash. She lives and works near Three Rivers, Michigan, in Flowerfield Township.

On a spring day in 2025, Kathleen Rabbers received a copy of I Remember by Joe Brainard for her birthday. Inside were evocative short-form poems, each beginning with the words “I remember.” She started reading it that night and couldn’t get enough of Brainard’s bravado and vulnerability.
She thought, Wouldn’t anyone want to do this sort of thing with their reminiscences?
So she did.
