Swimming Upstream: A Memoir
Plunge into Swimming Upstream, set in the mid-1950s through 1971, a period of cosmic upheaval in the fabric of American society. Married life begins in Colombia, South America. They move to Boston where her husband returns to Harvard and Constance gives birth to their first child. This promising marriage soon unravels. Divorced, she finds herself alone with two small children and no employable skills. While she’s completing her BA degree, an Otto Preminger film production appears outside her home in Salem, Massachusetts—this becomes the catalyst to propel her forward.
