Encounters: Inspiration from the Natural World

Nan Rubin

Nan Rubin has been a practicing psychotherapist, workshop trainer, and clinical consultant for over three decades. She and her husband, Charlie, both native New Yorkers, packed themselves and their dog up twenty-one years ago, moved to Tucson, Arizona, and never looked back. It has been the raw beauty of the mountains and desert that has captured her soul and spawned a passion for hiking, sculpting, and writing. This is her first collection of published poetry.

Encounters is a collection of poems inspired from the natural world. We see with the naked eye, but there is potential for greater meaning. Nature offers metaphors, and taking the time to deeply observe a small piece of the natural world in front of our eyes can create an understanding of the scope and nuances of life beyond it.
