"If ever there was a doubt in anyone's mind that animals can heal us, then The Healing Art of Pet Parenthood will dispel that notion. A blessing to read and a gift to share!"
--Christy Crabtree, Animal World USA Magazine
Deeply compelling, The Healing Art of Pet Parenthood shows that love knows no bounds and spirit is bigger than form. When the student is ready the teacher will appear, sometimes camouflaged as a four-legged companion."
--Rev. Deborah L. Johnson, author of The Sacred Yes and Your Deepest Intent
"The Healing Art of Pet Parenthood underscores the fact that the bond many of us develop with our pets is an incredible, inspirational thing that does not necessarily end with loss. This highly readable, intimate book is nothing less than a testament to that attachment."
--Larry Cox, Tucson Citizen newspaper
Description
The Healing Art of Pet Parenthood is a true story about the human-animal bond, healing cancer holistically, senior canine care, and an empowering new take on the grieving process when a beloved animal passes away.
Buttons was a happy, kooky cockapoo/terrier. When she was eight, she was diagnosed with a virulent form of cancer and given six weeks to live unless she underwent amputation, chemotherapy, and radiation. Instead, her pet parent, Nadine, launched a holistic regimen which included:
- clearing Buttons’s inner and outer environment of all toxins
- cleansing her body of all residual toxins, and
- giving her body the nutritional support it needed to heal itself
Four months later, Buttons was vibrantly alive and cancer free. She thrived for an additional eleven years. The Healing Art of Pet Parenthood will take you on a journey into the unlimited love and joy at the heart of all true relationships. At the same time, it will lead you deeply into yourself. This is the story of how Nadine and Buttons saved each other’s lives. It is only one version of a story shared by millions of pet parents.
